Heritage

Although I'm born and bred English, I actually have quite a mixed family heritage, which I'm very proud of. I enjoy talking to people about this subject, which is why I have a page on my site dedicated to it.

My mother is half Dutch and Half Scottish. My grandmother (Oma) was from Holland. Unfortunately, I don't know very much about the Dutch side of my family. On the otherhand, the family tree on my grandfather's side of the family has been kept up to date for many years. Right back to the time of The Domesday Book. This is a very important book relating to British history.

My Grandfather was Scottish, a fact which makes me very proud and through this branch of the family I belong to the Scottish clan Rose. The Clan Rose Crest I have a kilt which I have been known to wear a few times whilst living here in Milan, most people don't understand; but, there are many that recognise the Scot! I think that part of the problem is that my kilt is black... It'll go with anything! ;) My mother has a kilt which she inherited from her father, it is the family tartan and has been passed down the family for several generations.

Also on my mother's side of the family I am related to one of the knights associated with the death of Thomas Beckett, another notable piece of English history.

Moving on to my father's side of the family! My father has completed so much investigation into our family tree on his side, It's unbelievable!

My father is Welsh and a considerable amount of his forefathers are also Welsh. This side of my family has some incredible connections! Kings of the Britons on one branch and Kings of England on another!! I'm actually the 29th generation grandson of William The Conqueror! and in turn related to countless European kings and gentry including CharlemagneHoly Roman Emperor!
